Los Angles Galaxy sell midfielder Juninho to Tijuana, continue offseason re-tooling

The Los Angeles Galaxy have announced the sale of veteran midfielder Juninho to Club Tijuana, for a reported fee of $1.5 million.

Juninho, 26, made 187 appearances in his six seasons in Southern California, winning three MLS Cups in four years in the process.

The sale comes just two days after the Galaxy's sale of Omar Gonzalez to CF Pachuca, which  reportedly netted them an underwhelming $750,000, according to goal.com's Ives Galarcep. The Galaxy are expected to use the allocation money received from these transfers to revamp their roster, after a disappointing 2015 postseason saw the reigning champions fall to the fifth seed and crash out of the playoffs during the wild card round.

Los Angeles have been linked with MLS super-villain Ashley Cole this offseason, and are rumored to be preparing a new contract for USMNT striker Gyasi Zardes to keep him in white and gold.

Juninho posted a statement to his personal Twitter account, thanking the Galaxy and their fans for their support and passion.
